About Cutrova

Cutrova is a text-based video and audio editor. It turns your recording into a transcript with word-level timing, and every edit you make to the text is an edit to the media: delete a sentence and the video skips it, strike the filler words and the dead air disappears, fix a name once and it is fixed everywhere.

Local first

Cutrova runs on your machine. Transcription, editing, and rendering happen locally, so your raw footage and your voice never have to leave your computer. Features that would require a cloud service are labeled honestly as such, and they are optional.

Who builds it

Cutrova is built by Thorsten Meyer in Iffeldorf, Germany, as part of the StrongMocha group of publications and tools. The project grew out of a simple frustration: editing spoken video on a timeline is slow, and most of the work is really just editing words.
